This has never been about Trump.

It should now be abundantly clear that the Republican Party before Trump and after Trump is evil, corrupt, racist, sexists and devoid of Christian values. This has never been about Trump. Stop talking about Trump and start confronting the true enemy of our country and our way of life.

1. Go after their corporate donors - meet with Koch
2. Go after the corporate advertisers of their media enablers
3. Go after the church christian con artist exposing them for what they are
4. Be on every right wing talk show challenging their propaganda
5. Hold on-line webinars promoting the Democratic Party
6. Explain that no one likes abortion but why abortion should not be banned
7. Attack racism at every level and in any form
8. Expose Republican corruption and promote honesty oaths by all elected officials (Republicans will not sign)
9. Point to Republican racist opposition to immigration law reform as the reason for illegal immigration
10. Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs and take credit for it.

It's like saying, Fascism was never about Mussolini, or Nazism was never about Hitler, or Stalinism was never about Stalin. Yes and no. But the "no" is very important.

But yes, the seeds of Trumpism existed before Trump. If we exclude Trump, though, we stop looking for the next Trump--and looking for the next Trump is important.

By focusing on Trump and hearing that this Republican or group of Republicans were going to oppose him or not agree with him or .... was a waste of time as the recent Senate vote demonstrates. In my opinion, we should have ignored Trump and understand that Trump is nothing more than the embodiment of Republican evil - evil we are not attacking - evil that is the root cause of all of this. Consider this

there were genuine Liberal Republicans here in NYC, and maybe else where in the NE.
I know - I was there as a semi-activist teenager.

Just don't want totally lump all Republicans historically in the same boat.

Plus back then most staunch Conservatives often considered themselves separate from Republicans.
I believe they had their own party line at times. Pretty sure I remember seeing them in the old fashion voting booth columns.

You see I was a teenager growing up in South Carolina. I was raised to be a racist. I watched the yellow dog white Wallace Democrats leave the Democratic Party to form the Republican Party. The National Republican Party had just experienced the greatest defeat in the history of Presidential politics. The Goldwater, Rockefeller, Everett Dirksen Republican Party was dead. They then decided to sell their soul to white southern racists. It was politically smart. It saved their Party. Not a single Republican President would have been elected since without the Southern Republican racist vote. Oh, they thought they could control them. You know these dumb Southerners. They even thought they were still running the Republican Party. These Northern "Conservative" Republicans now know they are the ones being controlled. They are on the outside looking in.
