Is President Biden going too far with his executive orders?

I mean, c'mon, Joe ... Maybe you need to slow your roll for a few days.

They didn't want to heed our warnings then that if W made this the norm that this would happen.

Yes, hilarious. The point I was making stands because Biden has signed more EOs that any of the last few presidents in this short time.

He'd been pressed by Civil Rights leaders to lean on Executive Orders to fix the country's civil rights abuses (and he did do that some; it was really Kennedy who used EOs for civil rights action). But Johnson also felt like it would be more transformative to have Congress, the people's representatives, pass the major pieces of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965. And he was right. For all his faults, Johnson ended up having a much bigger impact on how much progress was made than Kennedy did.

That's not to say that you're wrong about who had the bigger impact, but Kennedy's role in that legislation is usually forgotten:

I am, therefore, asking the Congress to enact legislation giving all Americans the right to be served in facilities which are open to the public -- hotels, restaurants, theaters, retail stores, and similar establishments. This seems to me to be an elementary right. Its denial is an arbitrary indignity that no American in 1963 should have to endure, but many do.

The Report to the American People on Civil Rights was a speech on civil rights, delivered on radio and television by United States President John F. Kennedy from the Oval Office on June 11, 1963 in which he proposed legislation that would later become the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Even though I know nothing can be done and everybody says less people, less popcorn, it still bugs the hell out of me.

Same as "troops" used for individuals. Was watching an old movie where a guy was asked how many troops there were and he said there was one, when asked how many troopers, said 95. SEE! I yelled at the TV.
