the Atlanta Journal Constitution is covering her responsibly. They're not exactly enamored, by a long shot, and don't rush to gratify her with columns denouncing every attention-seeking action she can think up either.

I think it would be better if everyone just ignored her as much as possible and maybe see if we can put up a challenger that has a shot at unseating her. You live in GA, right Hortensis? Is there a chance a Dem could beat her?

who are appalled, but they're a definite minority. BUT a decent conservative could.

That's what our nation needs from its conservatives, of course. A widespread conservative reaction away from the extremism that's been dominating the outcomes of primaries in red districts. I live in another deep-red county, and all the conservatives we know (uncrazy by definition) want better candidates and a return to responsible, stable, decent, but still conservative, government.

would definitely be a big step up from what we currently have. I can’t remember who said it but someone said it’s necessary to have a decent center-right party competitive with a center-left party in order to avoid the rise of fascism.

capable of meeting in the center. To avoid the rise of totalitarian government of any orientation.

We've done it before. Too many nations have fallen to disastrous right and left extremist revolutions over the past 100 years, but our democracy held by creating a widespread wellbeing instead that starved extremists of the insecurity and anxiety required to spread the kind of virulent fanaticism we're seeing.

I think she's more a by-product of the vitriol hatred of Hillary Clinton/Barak Obama.

This segment of the population, which up until a few years ago, were largely underground and self contained as no one outside their own little community gave them much credence. That was until Trump, but unlike her, saw an opportunity to exploit them but in reality just caused America to see them for what they really are.
