Ocasio-Cortez Says That the QAnon Members Now Control the GOP Caucus

Todd Neikirk
PoliticusUSA, Jan, 27, 2021

Excerpt...

The New York congresswoman told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes: “It increasingly seems, unfortunately, that in the House Republican caucus, Kevin McCarthy answers to these QAnon members of congress, not the other way around. And that is something that frankly needs to be said — he said he was going to pull representative Marjorie Taylor Greene aside after, you know, her comments to Parkland activists and comments saying that Muslim Americans should not fully and freely serve in the House, that they must be forced to swear on a Bible, et cetera.”

Ocasio Cortez concluded, “It means that that silence is acceptance, and they want it because they know that it is a core animating political energy for them. And this is extremely dangerous — an extremely dangerous threshold we have crossed because we are now away from acting out of fidelity to their president that they had in the Oval Office, and now we are talking about fidelity to white supremacist organizations as a political tool.”

From before the election...

QAnon is a Nazi Cult, Rebranded

by Gregory Stanton
JustSecurity.org, September 9, 2020

Excerpt...

QAnon’s conspiracy theory is a rebranded version of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

QAnon purveys the fantasy that a secret Satan-worshiping cabal is taking over the world. Its members kidnap white children, keep them in secret prisons run by pedophiles, slaughter, and eat them to gain power from the essence in their blood. The cabal held the American Presidency under the Clintons and Obama, nearly took power again in 2016, and lurks in a “Deep State” financed by Jews, including George Soros, and in Jews who control the media. They want to disarm citizens and defund the police. They promote abortion, transgender rights, and homosexuality. They want open borders so brown illegal aliens can invade America and mongrelize the white race.

QAnon true believers think Donald Trump will rescue America from this Satanic cabal. At the time of “The Storm,” supporters of the cabal will be rounded up and executed.

The QAnon conspiracy theory has now spread to neo-Nazis in Germany, where over 200,000 German QAnon accounts infest the internet. A faction known as “Reichsbürger,” or citizens of the Reich, orchestrated a brief storming of Parliament on Aug. 29.

Many people are perplexed at how any rational person could fall for such an irrational conspiracy theory. But modern social science shows that people in groups don’t always think rationally. They respond to fear and terror. They blame their misfortunes on scapegoats. They support narcissistic demagogues they hope will rescue them.

However, putting in safeguards such as metal detectors, preventing weapons being brought into the Capital, etc. are some ways we can at least provide some protections and safeguards

When the GOP will not take action at least against the reps that were directly involved in the coup attempt, and who were arguing that some Dems should be executed, that's exactly who's in control.

of the regular conservatives in the Republican Party is getting lower and lower. Why aren't they speaking out and leaving the party? The Trumpers have taken over the GOP and they're not giving it back. People like Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, etc. need to either form their own party or join the Democrats. Or, I guess they could just be independents. But I wouldn't want any association with those nutcases if I were them. In the end, they'll be glad they left them behind.

Donald Trump, IMO, was more of a figurehead than otherwise. He was a convenient symbol (and distraction) to obscure the GOP's true allegiance. It may even be true that if Donald Trump had not existed, it would have been necessary to invent him.

The GOP is no longer in the service of the USA (granting, for the nonce, that they may once have been), they are in service to themselves.

groups or ideology, though there are overlaps and the white nationalist/fascist types are hoping to draw in some lost QAnon whackos.

I haven't done a study but do not believe that QAnoners, who worship Trump and believe Democrats are sexually abusing and killing babies to harvest life-extending treatments for themselves, outnumber and dominate the various allied white, Christian, and nationalist power groups, many of whom have great contempt for Trump.

Do you guys think they really believe this crazy shit, or is it an excuse to hump their guns and hate folks who aren’t white?

I mean, I might buy that they believe the Clinton-as-a-pedo (not that I think it’s true, don’t jump me - but he had a sex scandal and I can fathom someone making that leap), but the blood drinking and the rest?

I just wonder if they REALLY believe it or they are just using it as an excuse ...

What do you guys think?

the Q zanies in the halls of Congress are few, and IMO don't really believe in satanic stereotypes, but they sure DO love them some guns and their me-me-me-me sense of entitlement only speaks to what they truly value: power. They've seen first-hand how a well-funded obviously corrupt fucktard can literally get away with anything and rise to the top. They're already swept up and now it's all-in or, since they're white, sent home facing looming civil and criminal lawsuits.

Can you imagine if Ms. Greene was NOT white? Don't you think she'd be face down with a knee on her throat by now?

Patience. They will get their comeuppance.

Reality plays no part for some. We've entered a realm when facts mean nothing to 30 to 40% of the populace. I'd say 50% of congressional Seditionists play along as a means to power and money. The other 50% are "true believers" themselves. Damn scary shit. Scarier still for those outside the US, these lunatics want to control the most power nation the plant has ever seen.

Now with Cori Bush!

If you have Netflix, watch Knock Down The House. Knowing how desperately hard she worked to get elected, with everything else going on in her life/family, earns my deepest love and respect. We need more like her, and they're coming.

GOP=DeathCult. The Sedition Caucus will be exposed for the world to see, regardless of the trial's outcome. And then the reckonings will begin. I see many 14th Amendment hearings in the future, with convictions. Gonna take a while to root out the rot in Congress, but it will be successful.

In the meantime, keep safe and keep your situational awareness set on high.

have pretty much controlled the party. Republicans support, in many cases grovel to, and often elevate to office people advocating white supremecy, severe obstruction, voter suppresion, blatant dishonesty, illogical argumet, and violence.

This is simply not true of the Democratic Party. Unless you accept the false equivalence of, say, coup-supporter Hawley to AOC, or similar ridiculous examples.

The M$M rarely if ever makes this distinction. Dems don't seem to have figured out anything that in massive scale counters the RW propaganda machine.

The idea seems to be if we are honorable & truthful and play by the rules, we'll prevail. Unfortunately, that's not as effective as it ought to be, going by our narrow wins and tenuous majority.

We need a more powerful approach that leads to the vast majority of Americans rejecting for instance, the idea that mendacious, egomaniacal authoritarians who have never read the US Constitution make great POTUSes, or that coup attempts are A-OK (only when Rs carry them out, if course)
