No organizing resolution in the Senate yet

Could someone explain why we do not have an organizing resolution in the Senate yet?

The Senate adjourns until Monday afternoon. Senate Majority Leader Schumer made no mention of any agreement with Republicans on the organizing resolution. So - GOP Senators are still in charge of committees at least into Monday.

1. Because until there is an agreement ...

Mitch McConnell clings onto power because the agreement made when he was majority leader remains until the new one replaces it.

Did you think he was going to play nice?

2. Schumer announced an agreement days ago

Schumer triumphantly announced an agreement days ago with huge fanfare on Rachel's show. Where is it? Where is the text of it? What have Republicans actually agreed to? Next Monday is *February*.

These are all reasonable questions.

3. McConnell is pissed that they will use reconciliation so intends to try & stop it this way.

Everything he does is for the detriment of the USA and his own personal benefit - every.single.thing.

9. He said they had an agreement. So where is it? Why is McConnell still running the show?

11. The original announcement seems to be

that the filibuster issue was resolved and they agreed to set things up the same way they were in 2001. They, as of yesterday, were still finalizing the details. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/news/2021/01/28/schumer-mcconnell-senate-agreement-463472
