(132,153 posts)But they have lives in Hong Kong. This is so sad. I hope if they do return to canada they can sponsor friends and family. Heartbreaking to see a bright, promising place go dark.

(37,952 posts)But this is why many of them got dual citizenship after the 1997 handover.
Smart decision on their part and I think they will be able to get family out.
I never believed the Chinese would stick to the agreement until 2047. They never did in Tibet.

SARS-CoV-1 and MERS were zoonotic transfer, and that is the way I lean on this one without concrete evidence of a laboratory accident.

Could it be zoonotic transfer? Yes.
Could be be both? Yes.

(37,952 posts)That could possibly be the route to humans, through an intermediate species. But that could also happen in any wet market or in nature.
But we will never know if that was the case, or where it exactly originated.
Bannons idea of it being on purpose is horse shit. You are right, completely unreliable.

(132,153 posts)for good reasons or bad, and it got out of the lab. I'm going to park this and ignore it for now. Bannon is a conspiracy theory developer.
