General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsSo far, up to this point, how do you think the FBI is doing with rounding up the insurrectionists?
I think they're doing a good job. I am not worried, so far, about charges being too lenient. I think more charges will come. I'm not worried about them letting people go. I have not seen evidence of that so far.
What do you think? Good, bad, or indifferent?

(18,486 posts)The FBI is arresting them and locking them up - after that, it's up to the judges and prosecutors.

(37,953 posts)I want to know why the agent thought it was so funny.
StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)I have no idea why he's laughing but it looks like the guy he arrested said something funny, so he laughed. So what? I don't care.
What I do care about is that that agent and a lot of other agents tracked down a terrorist in Tennessee, raided his house at dawn, confiscated evidence, arrested him and took him to jail to face federal charges. I don't give a damn that he laughed at something while perp walking the guy out of his house.

(17,577 posts)I think the FBI has been careful to build solid cases. Im disheartened that so many have been released by judges pending trial.

(28,836 posts)That seems to have been fairly well established, caused by the chaos and confusion in the various law enforcement agencies as a result of Trump's actions and inactions.

zip ties on them.

(23,715 posts)If they had trapped the terrorists inside a bloodbath would have ensued until one side was wiped out. That isnt how you manage a riot. You disperse the crowd as quickly and safely as possible. Your number one goal is to preserve life.

(39,086 posts)that broke down the doors to the capitol and beat COPs to death?
Black Lives Matter wouldn't have broken down the doors and illegally entered the Capitol bldg and carried out the destruction and mayhem, so your question is moot.
it's easy to sit behind your keyboard and second guess the police that day, however, you weren't there, you have no idea of the terror they were feeling seeing that murderous mob heading towards them and knowing that you are outnumbered and possibly facing a massacre.
Try to put yourself in their shoes and show just a little bit of understanding what they were facing that fateful day.

(35,820 posts)Methodically and carefully building their cases, and that takes time. Those cases have to be unquestionable without a doubt air tight. ..getting the little guys to talk and turn evidence is key.
They are going to take down every last one of them.

(18,486 posts)This, as you say, must be done very carefully and methodically. A few weeks won't make a difference in the long run - no one's going to remember if they were arrested on January 7 or February 15. What will matter is that they are brought up on airtight charges and nailed in a solid case.
I'm patient. I can wait.
StarfishSaver
(18,486 posts)they must not be doing anything.
As you well know from you own long personal experience, that definitely isn't the case.

(23,715 posts)And how many of the worst offenders they have tracked down just from grainy photos. A lot of patriots stepping up and helping FBI by IDing these scumbags too.
This is one of the largest crime scenes in history. A difficult task to find everyone.

who are the people connected with trump and family, Bannon, Stone, Brooks, Gosar, Biggs, Giuliani etc.
They all knew what was coming.
And Alexander Ali needs to be found and arrested. He has information.

(68,952 posts). . . . . . If you're going to take a shot at the king, you better get him on the first try.
That applies to any of the big fish. The angry sheep are easy. The kings have resources. The sheep are pretty much on their own. Some of the worst of the sheep will have cases built against the incrementally. The kings' cases will likely come all in one legal nuclear bomb.
