We picked up Sushi Gari here in NYC and ate at home. My wife is Japanese and we havent had proper sushi in a year with the pandemic!
I dont usually post anything too intelligent here...I mostly post one liners in the subject that sort of bookmark something for me, but glad to be here!
DU did help me through the bush and fuckface years.
I hope this country can be repaired! I really do!

(957 posts)what DU has helped so many of us survive the last 20 years, minus 8 years & 1 week of Phuqqery Friday...
I hope you've been able to get sushi with your lovely wife. Hugz from your fellow Aquarian
looking forward to having a wonderful Szechwan & Hunanese din-din, even if I have to take delivery of it from a hotel room I can FULLY disinfect as a nice change from these 4 walls. May this year bring you much more happiness & peace, along with good & robust health. Blessings....

(11,863 posts)Enjoy the Szechuan and the hotel!
We thought about taking a staycation at a local hotel, but are being more cautious with the new COVID variants.
Weve been to a few restaurants if they have outdoor heated seating in private booths. There are a good number of them in the West Village...but we are starting to think about not doing that either with these variants.

(11,863 posts)My former company performed poorly during the initial COVID meltdown, so I had to find a new job.
It took a few months of zoom interviewing to get picked up and it was stressful. I havent met my new colleagues in person yet since Ive been working remotely in NYC since the fall. We are remote until July, but I could see that being extended. It has been a great place to work though. Awesome colleagues.
I was dumb and signed a two year lease in March. The landlord is expecting payment in full for all months to March 2022! Theyre playing hardball even though I have to move to Chicago in the summer!

(24,876 posts)And condolences on the lease! That sucks. Can you sub-lease it?
Chicagoland is cool, just dont let anyone tell you what they call pizza is actually pizza!

(2,010 posts)Your Jupiter Return And The Start Of A New 12 Year Cycle
Jupiter Return happens when the lucky planet Jupiter makes his way back to the same spot he was in when we were born. In astrology, a return of any nature is when a planet returns back to its home base in our personal charts. In terms of Jupiter, this happens every 12 years and when it arrives its a momentous occasion for most.
Wherever Jupiter goes in our charts, he brings abundance and good fortune. He can also bring out other things because hes the BIG planet. When hes operating in our chart he wants us to be seen in bigger ways than usual. For that reason, a persons Jupiter Return can reveal some other things. New personality traits can come out at the beginning of Jupiter return cycle since everything is big around that time. Confidence rises. People tend to think, see and act BIG and the world becomes their oyster.
Jupiter is the planet of possibilities.
Everything seems possible during a Jupiter Return. This is a phase in our lives that is definitely something to look forward to. It typically denotes a period where we become rejuvenated in bigger ways than usual. (Theres that BIG theme again!). We tend to become fresh and ready to tackle new things. Its a time where we are ready to see the world with new eyes. Our outlook is positive. We have a real ability to aim high and reach for the stars.

Every December my bosses give us a holiday bonus.
We, in turn, chip in to get them a gift certificate to a local restaurant, usually Japanese because they love sushi. This year my bosses got their sushi to go and enjoyed it at home.
Happy Birthday! I've got a Jupiter return in August. 12 years older than you!
My wish echos yours. I hope our country survives intact, and can be repaired.

(11,863 posts)Things have picked up in a big way for me starting in the fall and this year may turn out well for me!
As I said above, which you alluded to as well, I hope my good fortune also extends to others and repairs our country and world!
