(1,639 posts)With an agenda to actually take care of humanity and the planet that sustains us. Shocking, I know.
It was no less than 1993 or so when my logics teacher in community college threw out the question of whether women were suited to roles in government leadership. He was actually trying to teach us how to order our thinking via the standards of logical discourse.
One of my younger male co-students actually used the "women's hormones make them unfit" argument. Right, because we wouldn't want estrogen flowing in the streets. Someone might get nurtured. I did not actually make that argument in class, but I did point out that testosterone hasn't exactly made for a peaceful world.
It is amazing that so many men fear a world where women share power. We couldn't possibly screw it up any worse than men have managed to do all on their own.

(51,550 posts)Here in Orange County, CA, the GOP was able to flip a blue House seat back to red in 2020 by running the Asian wife of the white male former Chair of the State Republican Party. Hopefully it will flip back to blue in 2022 once voters realize what a right wing nutjob puppet she is. One of her first votes this month in the House was to vote No on impeachment.
What's revolutionary about the crop of female world leaders shown in that video is that for the most part they are progressive, and definitely their own women.

(40 posts)I also didnt realize there are
so many women in top roles already. This gives me hope that change will continue to happen. And I am excited to show this to my daughter (who is a little bit young to truly grasp the importance) to reinforce that she can dream of becoming anything she wants and it CAN happen.
