The Republican Party is in disarray post-Trump and faces a crisis bigger than after Watergate, says

veteran GOP Congressman

Veteran Republican Congressman Tom Cole of Oklahoma told The New York Times that the crisis facing the Republican Party in the wake of Donald Trump's presidency is greater than it faced after the Watergate scandal.

"I've been in Republican politics for 40 years professionally - so, just after Watergate - and I will tell you this has been the worst period of the entire time," Cole told the Times.

His remarks come amid chaos in the GOP following Trump's departure from office.

A rift has between lawmakers who want to distance the party from Donald Trump in the wake of the Capitol riot and his bid to subvert the election and a group who've remained steadfastly loyal to the former president.

During Watergate most of the GOP eventually condemned Nixon. Fast forward 47 years, after an attack on the Capitol Building and 5 dead most in the GOP are still kissing Trump's oversized skanky ass.

If you’re a major, American political party, but you can’t universally condemn insurrection against the government of the United States, you’re in trouble.

Nixon was corrupt, resigned bringing disgrace upon the Republican Party so the GOP adopted the "all government is bad" position.
Then teamed up with the Christian crazies to mobilize voters against their own country

investigating HRC repeatedly. Five so far at least (not counting suicides) lost their lives on 1/6/21, four I think lost their lives in Benghazi, which the GOP tried repeatedly to tie HRC to.

They’re United around Trump and Q Anon. There’s a small minority not, maybe 7%.

The only thing Republicans are sorry about is that the mob didn’t kill their Dem enemies in January 6th.

The numbers of pukes that support the deposed idiot king is about 70%, what they are coming to realize as voters drop their republican affiliation in droves is you can’t have one without the other
