Schoen said that he became acquainted with Epstein about 11 years ago, when the financier sought his advice. Periodically, over the years, hes asked me a question or two. Over the past year, increasingly over the past six months, he turned to me for advice, Schoen said, adding that Epstein wanted to be billed for that service, but he declined because, I wasnt sure where the relationship was going.
Epstein had me reviewing some of the submissions made by his legal team, Schoen said. The word was that from him and his inner circle, he trusted me.

A former prosecutor claims his decision in 2005 not to charge Bill Cosby with drugging and molesting a woman led to the comedian paying his accuser a settlement well into the millions of dollars.
Bruce Castors assertion in a lawsuit Thursday against the accuser, Andrea Constand, and her lawyers is the first time anyone has put a value on the confidential settlement.
Castor alleges the women harmed his reputation and cost him a chance to return as district attorney in suburban Philadelphia by publicly criticizing him and suing him for defamation days before the 2015 election.
Castors lawsuit doesnt explain how he would know how much Cosby paid Constand. Castors lawyers and Constands lawyers, Dolores Troiani and Bebe Kivitz, didnt immediately return messages.
