A spokeswoman for Mr. Moore’s family told the BBC that he had not yet been vaccinated because of the medication he was taking for his pneumonia.

I know he's 100 years old, but when it's his time, he deserves to go in his sleep, peacefully. Not from some horrid disease.

I absolutely adore this man, and what he has done.

I would not be flying a 100 year old around the world, with - or without the pandemic.

Lethal insanity.

then I remember a friend that asked to be driven around the island...she had stage 4 cancer

It was something she always wanted to do, she died a few weeks later.....It was only then did I understand why her daughter took her on that trip...

that's a last request. Not exactly the same as flying a 'national treasure' thousands of miles away for a sun and sea photo op, with the kids clutching his coattails.

England was on full lockdown over Christmas - still is. Even without the risk to Tom's health, this is totally wrongheaded. The rules don't apply to philanthropist-celebrities? This UK winter is bitterly cold. 100,00 have died. Grandparents can't visit their kids or grandchildren. But hey, Tom's kids can take him to the tropics to take in Pina-Coladas under a beach umbrella? Fail.

Raised something in the 6-figure range for children's health. I'm very, very much pulling for Captain Tom. We have a local hero because of him, who is definitely a compatriot. He is currently 101.

on the BBC Breakfast. I hope he survives.
A friend of my family just turned 107. She survived Covid earlier last year (https://eu.app.com/story/news/health/2020/05/15/coronavirus-nj-hazlet-woman-106-beats-covid-19/5193680002/). Hopefully Capt Sir Tom has the same good fortune.
