Here's why Trump's lawyers walked away from him
They wanted to argue that the case was unconstitutional. He wanted them to argue that the election was stolen.
Seems these were lawyers with scruples. They said goodbye to the monster. Kudos to them.
He's hired two more lawyers who either have no scruples, or, like him, they are unhinged and believe the election was stolen. They probably also believe that the grifter will pay them.
Given the "stolen election" argument, every Republican senator who votes to acquit him will be on the record of voting for the obvious Big Lie. This period of insanity will eventually pass and these senators will have to spend the rest of their lives explaining why they let a dangerous psychopath off the hook.
