(and I'm not talking about Rudy and that other guy).
First of all, don't eat while you are on zoom. Even if your table manners are great, it just seems weird, a big face on your screen in front of you wolfing down a salad.
It is best to remember you are seen. You are in a conversation with other people. Be fully dressed, comb your hair. Be dressed.
What did I miss?

(3,672 posts)Don't get too close to the camera because a huge face is kinda off-putting. Also assorted blemishes may become apparent, heh

I have a Zoom glass of wine with my good friend frequently.
Otherwise, I like your suggestions.

(68,470 posts)for some reason, everything you do is magnified. If you are seated in a living room with friends you don't see everyone so up close, looming...
I had a zoom wine with my friend last night and she mentioned that I had an awfully large glass! Guess I held it too close to the camera. Either that or it was a very large glass. Hmm.

(42,391 posts)Don't let anyone see your messy kitchen, or (God forbid!) your messy bedroom. Set up the computer or laptop on an uncluttered table in your living room. Sit comfortably on your couch or loveseat, with a tidy bookcase, nice artwork, or a picture window in the background. If you can do that it won't matter that the rest of your house is a mess.

(16,168 posts)I find myself studying the background - books, art - behind the interviewee. It's very informative!

(18,402 posts)my spouse does not align his desk in front of the wall of books in our study while he is teaching. He says the students (undergraduates/graduates) spend all the time reading the spines of your books instead of paying attention. He has for the background the closed white doors to the closets across the room. Keeps them focused!

(3,131 posts)Mute when not talking. It helps the sound quality. Makes it clearer who is talking.
Take turns talking. Dont interrupt. Come back to the person who waited.
Most people where I am leave video off. Unless its a way early call Im presentable anyway. Seems more professional.
