They could stand up and apologize.
For Goodness Sakes, there are videotapes of almost every one of them, up to and including McConnell and McCarthy. There are videotapes of them pushing the "Big Lie".
They could say:
"Sometimes politics can become too serious in Washington. It becomes the most serious thing in our lives. I was wrong to not stand up and denounce the lie that the election was a fraud. It was wrong to go along with President Trump's conspiracy to overthrow an election, whether we were aware or not.
Our Party has caused great pain and harm to our country and our democracy. It is time for our Party to put country over Party. It is time to stand up like a man and admit our mistakes.
I am truly sorry I have not done it sooner."
Then, they could vote to convict the most dangerous person to ever serve in our White House.

(46,772 posts)They need to convict to Trump.
Then they need to start helping the American people instead of their rich friends.

If they win the house at midterms they will only be more emboldened. We have to keep that from happening!
