If they 're going to pass one on their terms it should be a lot higher amount to eliminate having to revisit this issue wasting time , and to give the American people a sense of security until this pandemic is under control, and jobs are restored, and to speed up recovery time. The additional money needs to be put on monthly checks until certain parameters have been met, to state and local governments, schools, and to small businesses.
This pipe dream about unity from Republicans should be dropped , and focus on this bills passage period, and maybe ask Republicans if they'll reject their state getting the help they desperately need. The Republicans don't want a speedy recovery, like they did under President Obama where they slowed it down intentionally. If they don't go big now, they'll be here again wasting time, hurting the recovery, and putting people's welfare at greater risk not knowing what will happen to them.
President Biden needs to tell them that this small bill cycle needs to change now to give the American people assurances of help will be there for them, and to these other groups needing support preventing economic crisis, and shortfalls, and return to financial equity. This 1.9 trillion isn't nearly enough, and it should now be revised to help us all, not just the wealthy and the big corporations. In the end it will help this administration, and the American people from getting this done big.

(797 posts)That amount would allow for 6 months at $1200 per for 150 million recipients.
And may eliminate the need to return to this issue...
