Last night, Chris Coumo said that if the Dems use reconciliation, there will be cuts to programs including Medicare. Is this true, and if so, what can we do about it?

So lets ignore the horses ass, and go to the truth.
Remember that awesome government department The Center on Budget & Priorities that teaches us about budget issues?
Its back! Thank you President Biden!
All you need to know about Reconciliation & The Budget can be found in this paper.
Did you really think Sanders, Pelosi, Schumer, Harris or President Biden would undercut Medicaid during a freaking pandemic? If so, I have this piece of land for sale.......🤷🏻?♀️
May I suggest logic & research before adding to a right wing assault. Chris Cuomo isnt a reliable source. Listen to Cable news with an ear of discernment. Always research your questions.
I found this on my first search effort using two words:

With majorities in the House and Senate, Democratic leaders may well use a special legislative process called reconciliation to quickly advance high-priority fiscal legislation. Created by the Congressional Budget Act of 1974,

(14,750 posts)which I think says that every spending bill needs to be offset with cuts not including tax increases.
So to keep with the rule, we need to offset the spending with cuts.
but rules were made to be broken....... and laws can be undone.

(31,261 posts)Republicans didnt hesitate to break rules and norms when they had control. Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Schumer should run them right over.

(29,098 posts)Then the pressure will be on Republicans to reach that threshold to get that extra funding for their pet projects. There are ways around it.

(31,261 posts)We should designate farm and oil subsidies and rural aid (for roads, electrification, broadband), then let republicans decide which of the three gets the axe. They routinely punished cities, suburbs and blue states when they had control, time to put the shoe on the other foot.

(630 posts)Cedric Richmond was on and talked about it. That rule applies to permanent spending via reconciliation. These outlays are written to sunset in the current bill, so the Byrd rule isn't going to apply.

(90,339 posts)... prove to you and other "we can work with the QGOP" folk that these people aren't interested in what America stands for.
We go hard legislatively or the country goes away,
The average voter could give a damn about reconciliation or filibusters they only know what dems promised and what wasn't put through and could care less about "they held it up".
There's no opposition party right now, the QGOP wants to see it burn
