...and suddenly realize it wasn't real?
That's the feeling I get these days when I have NEWS playing on the TV in the background, and the newscaster says
"..let me stop you there, so we can go to the President, who is making remarks..."
I instinctively cringe, and think "ugh...NOW what?"
And I look, expecting to see an overgrown schoolyard bully in a baggy blue suit, shouting raspy insults at reporters over the screaming of helicopter rotors.
And then Biden appears, behind the Resolute desk, delivering calm, coherent remarks, in complete sentences.
I get that feeling...

I even laughed at a silly thing the cat did yesterday.
It's getting a little better every day.

(1,639 posts)Pretty much sums up my inner monologue for the past four years. After January 6, I could not relax. I checked different news sources constantly expecting another awful development.
I'm really not exactly all right now. I love having Biden and Harris is charge with Bernie and AOC and others speaking up and leading the way, but I don't truly trust anything right now.
Not sure how I'm going to get past this. Coverage of the First Dogs kind of helps.
