What he basically said was... McCarthy is in a bind because she is "Raising a lot of money."He repeatedly brought up MONEY.

Awful relative working in key position for awful Trump GOPer now in Congress told my mom that "it costs $800k to get a committee seat."

I thought, WTF?!!!

So it's not an outright payment, but evidently fundraising and donations to each party's campaign committee goes a LONG way in securing a committee seat. It's often referred to as a "committee tax."

No doubt it happens much more frequently in the GOP and seats are determined by $$$. AOC did not donate to the DCCC and still got a committee seat.
