Its not clear if its willful disinformation on display or a more deeply seeded psychological delusion, but the disconnection between reality and what is portrayed on Fox News prime time is a chasm that is impossibly growing larger. Eric Trumps comments werent qualitatively different than almost every other Fox News appearance during the Trump administration. He hit the same glowing notes in the manner of a child seeking the love of a distant father with hyperbolic praise.
Almost every kid is proud of his or her parents, and the loving pride on display is to be expected. But his comment that there has never been a more beloved political figure in our countrys history, is simply not true.
Curiously, while Sean Hannity and Eric Trump were discussing the many layers of greatness possessed by former President Trump, Officer Brian Sicknickwho was killed by Trump supporterswas lying in state, a somber ceremony covered live by CNN and MSNBC, but largely ignored by Fox News.
Oh, and there are also the various polls at the end of Trumps presidency that show him with among the lowest approval ratings in history. So most beloved political figure? Maybe within the Trump family and certain quarters of Fox News.
But in US history? GTFO.

(18,690 posts)Sometimes I question whether or not the psychological concept of "Denial" truly exists in reality, but then a story like this comes along and that opinion needs to be reassessed.

(17,747 posts)they'll have to commit him at some point. If they don't, he'll totally destroy what's left of the "business" after the debts are paid. At the very least, they'll need to have him declared incompetent. He's probably got some plan to stop that, because he knows his kids would do it. He wrested control of everything from his father before he died, so fucking the patriarch is, for them, a family tradition.
