(24,871 posts)Why not this murderer
murielm99
(32,820 posts)He was not hidden by people. He did his own hiding.
Eric Rudolph was very experienced in living in the Appalachians and had planned to do so for a while. He wasn't really getting help. When they found him he was in town scavenging for food in a dumpster behind a grocery store.
Kyle Rittenhouse would die in a week trying to do what Rudolph did.
From what I can tell Rittenhouse is pretty stupid too, so I doubt he's missing or on the run for very long. This new-fascist movement is not smart and they can't stay off social media for more than about 20 minutes at a time. It don't be hard to track him down.

(4,196 posts)Exactly. I'm sure he thinks he can hide from the Feds because he's just that stupid.
They'll find him, and soon. And when they do I hope they shove his murdering ass in prison immediately.
To get into prison you have to be sentenced. They can hold him in jail up until that point, and then turn him over to the prison.

(8,544 posts)He wasn't. He was basically in the same place they thought he was he he first disappeared and the same place they had been looking for him in for 5 years.
A rookie cop was on patrol and thought somebody was trying to break into a Save-A-Lot grocery store and arrested a guy. The backup officer who showed up happened to have gone to school with Rudolph and thought he looked familiar, then they pulled up some pictures and figured it out.
The FBI knew Rudolph was in the mountains around Murphy, NC for years. Nobody had to tell them where he was. The problem was there was a whole lot of "there" there. That's steep, rugged, dense terrain with lots of places to hide. He broke into cabins and stole supplies from gardens and local farms. He also came into town in the middle of the night and took food out of dumpsters, which is what he was doing when he got caught.

(4,584 posts)I don't remember how much his bail was, but if the bail was say a million dollars, whoever bailed him out would have put up 10% of 1 million dollars and that amount would not be returned. If he jumps bail whoever put up the money for bail has to pay the bail bondsmen the whole amount of the original bail.
Whoever bailed him out deserves to pay the whole amount for doing something that stupid.

An attorney working with Richards, Corey Chirafisi, asked Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger via email on Nov. 30 if he could keep the safe house address sealed but Binger refused, according to Richards' motion.
