"Liz isn't your girlfriend." Amazing moment from inside ongoing House GOP meeting

Just now on CNN reporter Jamie Gangel reported about the ongoing House GOP meeting.

There was one anecdote that a member just texted me from inside the meeting just now that I think also speaks to a certain tone. Mike Kelly from Pennsylvania stood up and said that seeing Cheney's statement was like playing at a big football game and looking up to see your girlfriend sitting in the opposing team's stand. To which women in the caucus yelled at him, "Liz isn't your girlfriend."

too many republicans in my area. She replaced the large animal veterinarian, Wahoo or whatever the hell his name was. I really don’t know what her views are, but she is a youngish person, regardless, I wish that the Dem had been able to pull out a victory.

They seem to have a very stilted way of seeing the world.

You can say that Liz Cheney seems to have betrayed the party or conservatism, or whatever. To reduce it to seeing your "girlfriend" in the stands of the opposing team though, that reduces women to objects.

I disagree with Cheney on 99% of things and she and her father are horrible. She is, however, a fully autonomous person who appeared to have a moment where she took a principled stand against a person who tried to remain in power by inciting insurrection, and for Republicans to reduce that to "our side v. your side" with a sexist analogy to boot.

what it would be like to be a member of Congress in a country where a dictator just overthrew the government. Seems to me there would not be much need for a Congress.

From Butler Pa., got his seat by gerrymandering what used to be Erie Pa.s seat.

The Erie Party needs to focus on this pos.
