Conspiracist Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is far more popular than Rep. Liz Cheney among Americans who align with the Republican Party, according to a new Axios-SurveyMonkey poll.
Why it matters: As the House GOP caucus is being torn over calls to yank Cheney from congressional leadership for backing Donald Trump's second impeachment, and strip Greene from committee assignments for her baseless conspiracy theories and violent rhetoric, these findings show how strongly Trumpism continues to define most Republicans.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is much more popular with Republicans than Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the survey finds.
By the numbers: McCarthy enjoys the highest favorable versus unfavorable ratings (net favorability) of the four among Republicans, at 38%-16% (+22); followed by Greene, at 28%-18% (+10); McConnell, at 31%-46% (-15); and Cheney, at 14%-42% (-28).

(7,263 posts)ANY support lost because of this move, which will be spun as President Joe breaking his promise by the Right leaning MSM, will hurt in 2022.
Voters in Blue States will see this as another way to siphon funds to the 'poor' Red States. Just another way of transferring funds to those who don't vote Democratic while leaving real Democrat's in the lurch.
We will need every vote we can muster in 2022 to keep the Fascists out of power and save Our Republic.

(7,431 posts)The pro-Greene ovation was a cowardly act alright, but it also connoted fealty toward Trump even as his power is waning. The Pro-Greene "movement" is temporary and transitory. As Trump gets an eternity of bad press in the coming months, his influence will wane considerably. Right now, GOPers can display their cowardice all they want, but when Trump begins to fade into the background, so will the QAnon influence. Concurrent with the weakening of the pandemic and a bolstering of the economy, all engineered by the controlling Democrats, the entire political picture will be significantly altered by June or July. GOPers will be searching for relevance and some may jump on the Dems' bandwagon to claim "victory" over COVID and a resurgent economy.

political apparatus is so dysfunctional, hate-filled, and constipated.
If your own fellow citizen from the opposition party -- never mind your
own political party member -- is seen as an "enemy", how can anything
be resolved amicably and in good faith ?
Sow the wind (hate speech, slander, discord, lies, division)
and reap the whirlwind (anger, violence, murder, mob rule)
