I have an inmate penpal that I have befriended for a couple of years. His latest writings suggest that he has bought into Q. He has been reading about Bill Gates using vaccines to do us all harm; Speaks of the dangers of the New World Order, and seems to be getting his world view from "Coast to Coast" on late-night radio.
I would like to send him a book that will gently challenge his new-found beliefs. His language skills are not good, so it can not be too complicated. I also don't want something that insults him.
I would need to send it from a bookstore...I can not mail packages directly to a prison.
He will be out in a couple of years, and I hope to maintain moral support for him. I want him to have another view of the world that starts with a different premise. He faces plenty of challenges. If he returns with a belief that the world is hopelessly rigged against him, the outcome can not be good.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

(2,336 posts)Not sure about how easy reading you can find, but in my mind the only way to counter this is to show how it's been used before as a way to dehumanize entire groups (Jews, Blacks, and now Democrats).
Are you able to send letters? You might find info online you can print and send?

(3,537 posts)For Q. There are some books that are being published by psychologists on that peculiar subject. However they use a lot of language that I don't even understand, let alone someone behind bars. So just google what you're looking for and I am sure you will find something.
