ST. LOUIS Two St. Louis-area residents have been charged this week entering the U.S. Capitol riot during the Jan. 6 riot.
One, Paul Scott Westover, 52, had his first appearance in court Thursday. He is facing four charges: a felony charge of impeding law enforcement officers and three misdemeanor charges including entering a restricted building, disorderly conduct which impedes government business and disruptive conduct in the Capitol building, Assistant U.S. Attorney Matt Drake said in court.
Westover was released on his own recognizance Thursday. He is restricted from traveling outside of Missouri without permission, forbidden to possess firearms and banned from contacting witness or victims in the case, U.S. Magistrate Judge Nannette A. Baker said.
The second man, William "Bill" Merry, of St. Louis County, is the uncle of Emily E. Hernandez, of Franklin County, who was charged last month, charging documents say.

(22,166 posts)up and be responsible instead of the crap they pulled in Wash. DC. And I don't care if they use the disclaimer that trump incited them, so what? They still did the damage, they broke into the Capitol building, they did it still, not trump. Trump should still be charged w/ treason or sedition. This was clearly an attempt to overthrow the normal processes of government by a trump-incited mob. Nothing less.
Honestly when I heard "2 arrested from St Louis" my mind instantly went to the couple pointing guns at protestors over the summer. I guess it wasn't them!
