...after a mailed court notice to Rittenhouses address was returned, Kenosha Police detectives went to the Antioch, Ill., apartment listed as his official address and found the Rittenhouse family no longer rents the apartment. They found another man had been living there since Dec. 14 ...
The defense motion states that Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger, in an email exchange with a defense attorney, declined to agree in November to keep the address of the safe house sealed in court records. Binger notes the only particular threat cited by Richards was an anonymous email to his office indicating what might happen to Rittenhouse in prison. "This is hardly a specific, tangible and imminent threat" that would call for sealing Rittenhouse's address, he wrote ...

(10,133 posts)The bail, IIRC, was paid by others: neither Rittenhouse nor his mother have much if any financial stake in his obeying the terms of his bail. It's not their money, it doesn't matter to them if they forfeit it.
Neither Rittenhouse nor his mother seem to realize just how much trouble he's in: going out of state to drink with mom and pose with proud boys and their ilk isn't going to sit well with a jury. He gives the impression that he doesn't really comprehend that two people are dead, and one maimed, because of his actions.

(302 posts)With all that money for his legal defense, he's feeling like a pretty invincible teenager right now. He has been rewarded with money and fame amongst haters for what he did. Right now, he's living a dream.
Our system enabled him to get this message. It's us. We did it. Our cops gave him water and said they appreciate him, our pResident treated him like a hero, the RW hate machine ponied up huge money and the Court got paid off (via a deeply flawed bond system) to let him out. We did this.
