the House and Senate should be barred, for security reasons, from the State of the Union address. I know they won't be. I know it will not even be considered, not even by Congressional Dems. I am sure there is no process for it and there are reasons why it cannot be done. But I feel that they are a serious security threat in a gathering that includes the president, VP, and speaker.

Certainly, without excuses or exceptions, EVERYONE who enters the building must pass through a metal detector and/or be frisked. Security detail must be vetted. Staff, media, janitors, EVERYONE.

I grew up in Flint, MI and I went to school with students with Arabic names (which I will not list for their privacy). I shopped at Hamady's grocery store (that surname is also spelled "Hamadi" ) and Farah-Khouri markets.
