(6,309 posts)I watch the show every morning too. Good source for information, great Democratic guests, and a consistently astute panel.

(6,309 posts)I'm an early bird so I watch something else until around 5:30 or 6. That way I can watch most of it without having to go through the commercials. I usually watch the first one or two hours depending on what's happening on that day. The last hour or hour and a half is usually just a repeat of the first half. For the most part, I like Joe Scarborough's rants, and his panel and guests are almost always top notch.
On edit to add: I agree. Avoid the toad.

(10,378 posts)Thinking back I might have guessed Tucker Carlson (also on MSNBC in those days) more likely to leave the party than Scarborough. Makes one think it is all just an act.

(6,309 posts)Scarborough hates Trump to his core. To believe Scarborough is all just an act, one would almost have to believe that Steve Schmidt, the person who brought us Sarah Palin, and the man who almost single-handedly torpedoed John Kerry's campaign against Bush is also an act. Ironically, he is now a darling of the left, including Democratic Underground. I don't believe his actions are an act either, just as I don't believe Scarborough is putting on an act, and I am convinced of the sincerity of both men's anti-trump stance. Neither of them are republicans anymore. Steve Schmidt is now a Democrat, and Joe Scarborough is now an Independent.
Tucker Carlson on the other hand, like Sean Hannity, is aware of the lies they tell, but will milk it for all it's worth as long as there are enough willfully ignorant and stupid people in the world. Like leopards, their spots will never change.

(59,877 posts)Except for the fact that millions are pre-programmed to think that ANYTHING a Democratic president does has to be bad. If Biden were to cure cancer single-handedly, Fox would find a way to spin it as a gesture meant to drive oncologists into unemployment.

Personally I don't think ANY American leader could amass 60%+ support today.
President Obama may end up being the LAST of the (nearly) universally loved American Presidents.
