I got my second dose of Moderna on Wednesday

The first dose I got about a month ago, I had no side affects at all. The second kicked my butt. About eight hours after receiving my second dose I started to feel a little tired and a little chill. I went to bed around 10pm. Around midnight I had to have been running a fever of 104 degrees. I was dizzy and my joints all ached. My shoulder where I got the injection was sore as if I had been hit with a bat. I spent all day yesterday pretty much in bed. My temp had gotten down to 100 but I was still pretty dizzy and a little nauseous. Finally feel better today. Just a heads up for those getting number two. Pay attention to your temps.

Who got kicked for a loop the evening of the second dose. All sorts of GI trouble - coming out both ends with assorted aches and pains. The good news is, it lasted for a couple of hours and then he recovered pretty quickly. Next day, he was fine.

Yeah, I’m dreading the second dose because I’ve heard that the reaction is significantly worse than the first. My first dose left me with a sore arm and slight fever so I expect to get pretty sick from the second. But it’s better than possibly dying from Covid.

She said to get myself some help after that second shot. I won't have anybody to help, so I'll just have to prepare by cooking the day before so I'll have food already and won't have to do anything the next day. She said Tylenol worked for the headache and fever and Zofran worked for the nausea. I'll be as ready as I can be.

I wonder if aspirin is okay. The main thing I hate is the nausea, and I have plenty of Zofran for that. Everybody has told me that it lasts only for a day, so I guess I can put up with a headache for a day.

Pain relief medications like Tylenol and Advil are 'perfectly fine' – but only after COVID-19 vaccine, experts say. Avoid pain relief medications just before getting the COVID-19 vaccine, but they are 'perfectly fine' to take after, experts say.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2021/01/29/covid-19-tylenol-advil-vaccine-coronavirus-cdc-who/4290975001/

There also was an interview with a nurse who got the vaccine and said she had a temperature of 104 after the second dose and she took Tylenol or Advil and it helped bring the fever down. If it doesn't go down after some time you should go to the hospital. I don't know what "some time" means though.

The first shot was nothing. It was like getting the usual flu shot. I had no affects at at all. The second, wow. I have a friend who's 83 year old mon had no reaction to her second dose. I guess it depends on your body.

My list of symptoms is pretty similar. Yesterday was tough. Today is better but I'm still feeling chilled and weak and that dang headache is still there right behind my eyes. I pretty much figured it would be bad because the first dose gave me flu like symptoms too.

I had a sore arm on the first one. I went to work on the second day number two, after (I’m a nurse) and couldn’t understand why I felt so bad. (I kinda forgot about it, I didn’t side effects the first night)I turned around and went right home. Mostly tiredness and a whooping headache. Other nurses I know had fevers, chills etc. it’s your immune system activating

How old are you? I hear the older you are less likely to experience this. I do not think I am old enough at 60 but hoping. Thanks for the honesty. Just go to bed for a day or more, and try to sleep it out.

I talk to the nurse every day or two that is treating my 87 year old mom.

The nurse said that the second shot gave her similar symptoms to what you are describing. But of course way better than dying which she has seem plenty of in her job.

My Mother got her first dose of the Pfizer and was exposed to the virus two days later when someone else came into her assisted living unit and became positive.

Mom is recovering but has had a lot of mental confusion to hallucinations, but seems to be getting better but is still coughing up chunks as her lungs try to clear out. Been in the covid ward about two weeks now.

Will need to get better before Mom would look at her second dose.

I am not eligible to get my first injection for a few weeks, but I am ready for it. I am a little concerned as I have a first cousin who had a reaction to his first dose and his lips swelled up and they had to give in an eppi pen. He did not have any known allergies before hand.
