She just asked Rep Hakeem Jeffries it's been a month now how are you going to get American people to care about this. Apparently she thinks people have forgotten about Trump terrorists breaking into the capital urinating and defecating in and vandalizing our house. The people house. Killing 5 people injuring 150 police officers, etc....Did she ever say that about Benghazi. What a hack

(38,464 posts)Actually, I believe she does. She just has to knee-jerk a doubting Thomas meme into any situation. Like Chucky.
NEVER watch her.

(115,659 posts)It was far away; it didn't affect them directly; it was "only" Congress (which a lot of people don't like); and there are plenty of Q-sympathizers out there who might have even thought it was a good idea even if "maybe they went a little too far."

(53,410 posts)pay any more attention if they havent already.
Shes very careful of cultivating her unique status. Of burnishing it just right so she appeals to the powerful as well as to the common man. Its a balancing act that works for her because she feeds all sides what they want to hear in turns.
She knows that if she offends one faction that shes pleasing the other, and then to maintain her situation she reverses that with a balancing act. Thus she can always claim neutrality.
It works for her.

(115,659 posts)The ones who don't are watching Fox or worse, which are avoiding talking about it as much as possible - which might be one reason they don't care about it.

(53,410 posts)I found that the great majority of people around me simply werent interested in politics and had no idea it has great impact on our lives. The prevailing attitude was that they were vaguely convince there was nothing they could do about it, whatever it might be at the moment. Their answer was to sadly shrug their shoulders and dismiss it. They had more interesting things to do like post something vain on Facebook or text or gossip around their social life. They just lived their lives feeling untouched by politics.
There were people who cared and kept up with current events, but they felt just as alienated as I did.

(11,683 posts)This upset me way back when Benghazi's crappy smell got warmed through efforts of the disingenuous Right: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/andrea-mitchell-calls-benghazi-report-devastating-katrina-trinko/
But then I saw Mitchell do this:

(9,951 posts)... how to have the channel changed so I never see her "Reports" show. I'm sure she's studying Hillary Clinton's emails and will call the FBI when she finds the proof in the pizza.

(11,562 posts)A trifle...a mere bagatelle.
It actually caused GOP politicians to break with the party line and denounce the simulacrum behind it, and many people to either change parties, or just drop their R affiliation.
No one cares.

(7,949 posts)Most of them absolutely do want what happened on January 6th trivialized or forgotten altogether. My Trumper coworkers never bring up the riot but had a 15 minute cryfest how the 15 minimum wage will cost us our jobs and lead to higher taxes. We make the hefty sum of 13 an hour. Anyone like to go to the French Riviera this spring?

(53,410 posts)opinion here. It wasnt a riot. It was a blatant attempt to seize power through violence instigated by Trump so he could remain in power. It was insurrection. A deliberate attack on Democracy in order to give all the power to one person.
A riot is never about anything but gratuitous violence and destruction of property and is not in any way connected to establishing any kind of government or rule. Its just destruction for its own sake.

(9,107 posts)I doubt being Mrs Greenspan carries as much weight as her history with NBC since July 1978. Hope she isn't going for 50 years. Should have quit at 40.
Tom Brokaw only just retired. Maybe she is eyeing the exit.
