During the incident, a man gained access to JBA & entered an unlocked C-40 aircraft on the flight line. A C-40 aircraft typically transports cabinet level officials and senior military leaders conducting official business.

(15,940 posts)That is something to be concerned about and How this person gained access is rather scary considering this is where most government officials keep their planes.

(47,057 posts)I can assure you that the base commander is having some meetings right now.
And the language is not suitable for civilian ears.
Heads are going to roll.
Heads will figuratively roll

Wtf.
Not saying who, nor how he got that far past security. Did he have credinentials that allowed it?

(47,057 posts)There had to be some help, credentials, real of fake.
If not, Andrews is in seriously bad security condition.

(47,057 posts)Usually planes are locked. And only a few are allowed onboard other than flight crew.
Cleaning and repair crews have access.
So this guy got past three levels of security, getting on the base, on the flight line and then on the airplane.
Does make me agree with you that he could have had some credentials.
But even then he would not have access to a military aircraft.
It should not have been unlocked. These planes are expensive.
And of course the security issue.
We also have a situation where Andrews AFB houses presidential aircraft, so there should be a higher level of security.
My ears are hurting as I imagine what the base commander is yelling right now.
And up the chain of command.
Someone will lose their job over this, as they well should.

(15,325 posts)Ya, it's ear shattering noise followed by deathly silence in that room and there's only one person talking.

(47,057 posts)And of course the Base commander is going to receive a few calls from up the chain of command.
He will be on the receiving end of the ear shattering noise.
I assume Secret Service will be involved.

(317 posts).....I cannot help but hope they are investigating the possibility that someone from the inside let this man in😡
Irish_Dem
(47,057 posts)So it would have to be someone who is connected to flight operations.
And few people have direct access to the aircraft.
These are very expensive planes. And they are kept locked.
If it is an inside job, I would think the investigators only have a relatively small group of people to look at.
A military air base employs a lot of people, but many of them have don't have direct connections to flight operators.
