Yes....he lives in Wilmington....that's why he is going there.
Auto: a little over 2 hours one way trip
Amtrak: about an hour and a half one way
AF1-: wheels up to wheels down- 27 minutes! (his first trip on AF1 as president) also one way......not enough time to get a cup of coffee!
Just think of all the fuel being saved not flying to Fl.

(42,751 posts)The others would have living arrangements nearby. But as I say, my guesswork and two bucks might get you a cup of coffee. But I'm pretty confident the SS Detail's accommodations bills won't be as high as they were for the orange asshole because they won't be required to stay at his hotels at home or when they travel. And they won't have to rent his golf carts at a premium.

Well, ok, it's going to have a price tag, but the real reason he's got to fly is security. You just can't have potus moving so far for so long on public roadways. There's no way to keep that trip secure without closing the highways, and that would cost even more than flying. And really mess up lots of people's lives, in the balance. And closing the highways wouldn't even be reliably safe, anyway.
