On Thursday, NBC News reporter Ben Collins highlighted a new conspiracy theory circulating on Facebook in the remaining QAnon community. According to the narrative, noted Collins, Trump never actually left office, but is still secretly president — and has been carrying out public executions of his "Deep State" enemies on the White House lawn for the past 10 days.

"Q", if I can recall from my distorted and chaotic dreams, is reported to be a government "insider" who set up a social media account and is professing to know what's really happening inside the walls of government. Q reports to have intimate knowledge of the actors in the "Deep State" who are a nefarious bunch of child-eating pedophiles. Golden God Trump has been appointed, by the other God, to root out the Deep State and purify the government of evil-doers.

Now, I can go along with some of the drama here if the story were exclusively within the domain of comic books. But people have died at the hands of a mob who believe this stuff. We know that at least some of them are at one mind with the QAnon set of conspiracies. Others in the mob, may not have those beliefs, but are using QAnon as cover for a fascist takeover of government, perhaps in coordination with Russia. So this isn't the stuff of comic books. It's real and it's already proven to be murderous.

At some point in time the real identity of "Q" will be exposed (S/he may even be a Russian agent. We don't know.). And then all hell will break loose, and "Q" will be running for his/her life. And the reason will be that "Q" made all of it up, and eventually will have to admit that all of it is a lie.
