These people are just f****ng insane!

How does a person get so brainwashed to do something like this? I just can’t wrap my mind around it....

*****

According to an affidavit, during national news coverage of the capitol riot on Jan. 6 in Washington D.C., the video footage showed a woman in a pink hat, a black jacket with a fur-lined hoodie using a bullhorn telling others how to gain control of the Capitol. Investigators say they later identified the woman as Powell.

Once inside, the affidavit says Powell was seen using the bullhorn to give instructions about the layout of the building and instructing others on how to "take this building." She also noted that they “have another window to break," according to the affidavit.

The 40-year old Powell faces a maximum sentence of 47 years in prison for the charges, maximum fines of up to $600,000, and up to seven years supervised release.

That's my guess about her initial path into fantasy world, but time will tell.

Edit: Specifically the kind of religion that directs attention outward, to find "outsiders" who supposedly need converted -- e.g., evangelicals.

Did it delve into her past?

Edit: Even that horned-helmet weirdo was recorded leading a prayer to Jesus on the Senate floor, with pretty much all of the other nutcases participating.

Edit2: And based on the last two CNN Presidential exit polls, both Clinton and Biden would have won the "white vote" too if none of the white evangelicals had voted. (They instead voted at a higher percentage than their percentage of this country's population, and overwhelmingly for their orange savior.)

Being from Mercer County and having eight kids would be a clue that she is or was involved in one of those quiver full churches.

And in the interview she said her actions were "spontaneous." She was calling in office and hall proximity specifics from the outside. No way was she not prepared for her actions. And like you say, she was helped.

Only the well off ones are even being given bail and released from jail. Pink cap lady’s vacation is going to be a change of federal prisons over a few years.

It boggles the mind to realize that many millions of our friends and neighbors, even family condone and even admire this woman.
Trump and the QOP, especially enabler Moscow Mitch bear the responsibility for the radicalization of this woman and the others who stormed the capitol...

A Pennsylvania Mother’s Path to Insurrection
How claims by Rudy Giuliani and Alex Jones spurred a parent of eight to become one of the Capitol riot’s biggest mysteries, and a fugitive from the F.B.I.

Last summer and fall, Powell said, she attended various protests, including anti-mask rallies. “If there was a protest in Harrisburg, I was there for almost all of them,” she told me. On July 4th, she drove for four hours to join members of several far-right groups, some of them armed, who gathered at the Gettysburg National Military Park, purportedly to protect Civil War monuments from desecration.
+++
At the July 4th demonstration in Gettysburg, Powell met Kevin Lynn, the founder of a group that advocates for the hiring of American workers in the U.S. technology industry. Last August, after Lynn’s group placed ads pressing Trump to restrict the outsourcing of jobs overseas, Lynn met with Trump at the White House. Lynn told me that he had attended the Gettysburg protest to document the event, and that he interviewed several participants, including Powell. Afterward, the two stayed in touch. “I would say we’re friends,” he said. Before Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington, D.C., Powell told Lynn that she planned to attend, and they agreed to go together. On January 5th, Powell and Lynn met near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and drove to Washington in his car. At least two other friends, the owners of the bookstore where Powell works, drove in another car.

The article provides and excellent review on how she became radicalized. A while back, she was a fence-riding liberal but with strongly held libertarian thoughts, which appears to be the root cause of her transformation. She is rabidly anti-mask and anti-statue removal - therefore racist and staunchly libertarian.
