Isn't it about time voting fell under the auspices of the first amendment and freedom of speech?

This crap of voter suppression needs to go the way of the dinosaurs. Voting is the most fundamental form of speech I can think of. It may be highly formalized and not to be confused with fiction, ie: hannity, Limbaugh et al. but it is nonetheless speech.

Voting, in its infancy, by necessity had to be in writing or by making your mark. In voting you are SAYING who you wish to SPEAK for you in government. Any law or rule that inhibits that violates the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Just because ballots are preprinted or electronic doesn’t mean special circumstances exist to prevent you from casting your ballot. Voting is the ultimate form of constitutionally protected free speech. We need to end the , what has become, the fine art of voter suppression.

To my simple, non lawyer, mind this seems to be a slam dunk for most any attorney worth their sheepskin. Voting should be, across the nation, one simple process that is identical wherever you go.

voter access with measures to restore voter confidence (photo IDs, paper ballots etc.), it would be difficult for the right to oppose.
