Well We've kept the lights on for another month. Still waiting on Taxes, Stimulus, ETC.
Applied for some more gigs this week too. Trying to break thru the depression and feel more "adult"...whatever that means.

2. Did you get back on UI? All I had to do was continue claims and though I ran out Dec 21,

I was automatically or continuously enrolled. They even picked up Dec 26 week and paid me and I thought I would lose that one. I am in Oregon, I do not know if states matters.

California EDD is impossible to get thru to ... I gotta keep trying this week at all different times...I heard that 7pm is best cuz they are about to close but thats when everyone gives up.

Mine ran out 12/26. The original claim said I cannot re-apply till the "next year" on 7/2021. However, the notice also said that I don't need to DO anything, that they will determine whether I get an extension and will be notified by mail.... so far, NOTHING.
I thinkn the whole EDD dept came to a screeching halt on 12/26 cuz of the BS in Washington...plus California has has a lot of fraud, so maybe that's the glitch.

5. But... I kept hearing and kept saying, KEEP filing. Even if you run out, once you stop filing

the claim stops. KEEP filing, and they can just go to it. So if that is what happened bummer. I have NEVER been able to connect with a person in almost a year, calling UI. I did make a mistake filling out form by not putting a space in my address and I had a human call. Man, I drilled her for info because I had never used the system.

When I was being kicked off Dec 21, I was in a panic. Mine was kicking me off a week earlier then that mass and afraid I would end claim. I started asking questions on all our state board. Gov, Markley, Wyden. I got the answer i think here, KEEP filing, but I got a call from Markley which was nifty. Oh, ... UI site asking questions, I had someone call me back, but was already getting it. That was just a couple weeks ago.

It is hard, sorry. I hear Ca has some issues. Or and Wa seem to be doing better.

7. yeah, in CA once your case "expires" everything is shut down...

There IS no way to "keep filing" I am basically locked out of any actions in the system except reading my "inbox" which tells me to wait for their letter in the mail... UGH

I guess we do not have to declare the stimulus. So cool. I generally get back about 1100. How were your taxes affected? Have to pay a tax person where they charge 400-500?

CA - I got a form 1099-g or something in the mail that told me how much was paid out for the year... added it to my taces. (filed HR Block online) so yeah...

I have W2, UI, ACA. and property tax for this year. I would also like to see if I can use last year. I didn't get it in. So, I will see how easy/hard. Thanks.

11. The stimulus is taxed it will show up in any software you use or any tax preparers

BTW UI in CA has been fantastic, I am not sure what the other poster's issues are but I am not convinced that UI is the problem.

13. Thanks for the info. I have been following it. There was period of fear for me.

I have never used the system, not good on the internet but, they have kept me informed to a point and everything has gone smoothly regardless of me being afraid so I am very thankful for this system. I got scared at end of Dec. Actually, I started getting 'fraid about Dec 14';sh. Anyway, thanks for the information. Taxes aren't easy anymore and again, not good with that stuff and end up paying someone.

14. Tax USA is free and very EASY!

Do not pay anyone, if you are taking the standard deduction the software is very friendly. If you make an error or they think you have the software tells you and lets you go back and correct, if you make under $50,000 the FED is free and it costs $12 for your state. Just try it Liz and message me if you have any issues, I will help you.

for me and did not get my property tax or ACA form in. Not having ACA held me up. When I realized in Sept I ask bookkeepers to do it and they all wanted 400-500 dollars and I was like no fuckin way, lol.

My oldest sent me a youtube of filing a 1089. I was so proud, I got it done, step by step. But, it was not simple at all, lol. Lordy. And then just finding a printer and fax was costly. Everything is so hard anymore. I am going to try. I have the time. Waiting on a W2.

Making some personal shifts... this economy and life and not being working has had me really depressed...

taking charge little things at a time, getting outside for walks, etc... something has to make this better right? And worrying about money isn't helping. Tying to continue proactive movements...

Trying to keep moving forward and keeping positive. Been making myself take walks (up to a mile!) every day with the doggo... also started negotiations with a local university that's partnering with our community college for offering hybrid/online BA degree programs. I might end up getting my teaching credential after all...is 51 too old to go back to school?
