Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) continues to receive harsh pushback from members of her own party after voting to impeach Donald Trump for inciting the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
"The Wyoming State GOP Party voted MOMENTS AGO to formally censure Liz Cheney for her vote to impeach Trump in the latest example of state Republican parties punishing lawmakers who have gone against supporting the former president," CNN's Daniella Diaz reported Saturday.
"They are also calling on her to 'immediately' resign and the party intends to 'withhold any future political funding' from her. The motion also called on her to repay donations from the state GOP and any county Republican Parties to her 2020 re-election campaign," she noted.

A right wing troglodyte named Ken Buck is her Congressman.
She says she doesnt worry when voting, since she knows that Denver and Boulder will overwhelm her area in the statewide vote.

(90,762 posts)But I will say they ALL (republicans) got the GOP they wanted. Well, maybe the one some of them thought they wanted.
Otherwise, they would not have made all those appeals to prejudice and fear year after year (after year after year).
They appealed to the worst elements of human behavior and now some of them can't seem to understand why those walking/talking worst elements have turned on them.

(1,110 posts)There is going to be serious drift of anti-Trumpist (for want of a better term) republicans into the Democratic Party with a consequent rightwards shift of the party's centre of gravity.

(14,101 posts)I used to work up there a lot from Denver, got to know Dave Freudenthal when he was the US Attorney, later two term governor. Good guy even though a Republican. It started getting nasty up there under Reagan and the BLM fights over government land.

Edited to add: let them be like the church scene in the movie Kingsman: the Secret Service.
