It has always been an American political genius to follow a disastrous Presidency with a great one.

Although I was very pleased to support President Biden, I wondered, at his age, if he was going to have in him to be that kind of President.

Clearly, I need not have been concerned.

It's out of FDR; it's out of Lincoln, and indeed Obama.

...on a scale including Trump and Buchanan, he was strictly small time.

Now, his racism set us on the path to Trump, and HW "Willie Horton" certainly helped racism along, but Clinton at least allayed that trend for a time.

Trump and Pierce/Buchanan are in a league of their own as disasters, and Hoover, while perhaps a cut above Pierce/Buchanan/Trump left a severely wounded economy, but he was not Trump, not even Buchanan/Pierce.

At least we can say of Buchanan that he inherited the divisions that defined him as the worst US President until Trump, but Trump created those divisions, so Trump stands alone.

But now, with President Biden at the helm, I truly hope America will be great again.

The best I can think is what the country must have felt like when FDR succeeded Hoover.
Great relief on one hand and great hope on the other.

and that's all I really cared about. I am however, very impressed. The Prez is bringing his "A" game. It's fun to watch.

A confession: I wanted Joe Biden to beat Obama in the 2008 primary. And then I wanted Joe to pick Obama as his running mate. I love the way it turned out, because I think both men turned out to be the president for their time. Destiny.

Nobody knows more about how Washington, D.C. works than Joseph Robinette Biden. There may be some that know as much; but, nobody knows more. Add compassion, honesty, and integrity...you got yourself a President.

Let’s have his back.
