If they must give Trump an intelligence briefing, make it verbal only, in private.

Let him try and do something with that. He won't pay attention or understand most of it anyway. Absolutely no documents, hard copy or digital. Then hopefully certain agencies are doing their jobs and monitoring his communications. He'll get caught if he tries to sell any info.

to decide whether a former President gets the briefing. I don't see Joe Biden letting Trump get it. Trump will get the bare minimum the law requires from Biden, which is quite enough.

Not that they blab, but you could easily presume a former president would be relying on those briefings if advising or making deals of any kind.

I never thought about it until all of this shit with Trump. It’s scary how close we came to oblivion with him. So completely untrustworthy and malevolent.

Trump and intelligence are mutually exclusionary terms. He has burned every bridge with our country and he should be in prison for what he has done.

I heard Biden say it's up to his discretion, and there are reasons not to give it to him. When pressed why he feels that way, he didn't want to "speculate out loud" and that he saw no reason why he needs them.

In other words, what Biden can't say out loud, he can certainly say in legal documents or to a court if necessary. With Intelligence Back Up.

Are there "people" saying that he has to regardless?

ATLANTIC CITY — An auction house sold 10 packages that included 2 VIP tickets to view the Feb. 17 implosion of the former Trump Plaza casino, along with overnight stays and dinners, for a total of $6,375 in a live auction ...

The auction was run by .. the same firm that would have auctioned off the right to push the implosion button on the Plaza. That plan was scrapped when building owner Carl Icahn objected, citing safety concerns.

But Icahn agreed to donate $175,000 to the Boys & Girls Club, to match the highest bid received as of the day before the original auction ended ...

Used in old spy novels. You only print say 25-50 copies of the daily brief, so a single minor detail in an unimportant portion is altered-say describing a person clothing you change colors or style etc. so each copy is unique. Then if the information is compromised you have a record of which person got the briefing with that particular detail. In technical details you can easily change the decimal values in a number with 3 decimal places without materially altering the meaning. Lotsa ways to plant tell-tales.
