Robert Mueller.
His lawyer - cannot remember his name - said NO! You cannot tell the truth, he said (something like that) a habitual liar.
Wonder whether this lawyer will ever write a book.

The New York Times casually dropped a very funny detail into a Sunday story about how White House attorneys Don McGahn and Ty Cobb disagree with each other about how cooperative to be with the Robert Mueller Russia investigation:
The friction escalated in recent days after Mr. Cobb was overheard by a reporter for The New York Times discussing the dispute during a lunchtime conversation at a popular Washington steakhouse. Mr. Cobb was heard talking about a White House lawyer he deemed a McGahn spy and saying Mr. McGahn had a couple documents locked in a safe that he seemed to suggest he wanted access to. He also mentioned a colleague whom he blamed for some of these earlier leaks, and who he said tried to push Jared out, meaning Jared Kushner, the presidents son-in-law and senior adviser, who has been a previous source of dispute for the legal team.

question everything
(47,476 posts)Im not sure. I dont know. I cant remember. In a mock interview with President Trump to prepare him for a possible sit-down with the special counsels office, Trumps lawyer reportedly found that there was a lot Trump couldnt remember about key events relevant to the Russia investigation.
In a new book, Fear: Trump in the White House, by Bob Woodward, obtained by The Atlantic ahead of its release next week, Woodward offers the first detailed look at the way the president might handle an interview with the experienced prosecutors on Special Counsel Robert Muellers team. If the questions seem harmless, dont treat them that way, Trumps then-lawyer, John Dowd, advised the president during the mock interview in January, according to Woodwards account. And I want you thoroughly focused on listening to the words.
(snip)
After several meetings with Muellers team, Dowd ultimately decided that he did not trust them, and strongly advised the president not to do the interview, according to Woodward. But he did not trust Trump, eithernot to tell the truth, anyway. He warned the president that if he spoke to Mueller, hed end up in an orange jumpsuit. Woodward ended the book with a blunt, and ominous, assessment: In the man and his presidency Dowd had seen the tragic flaw. In the political back-and-forth, the evasions, the denials, the tweeting, the obscuring, crying Fake News, the indignation, Trump had one overriding problem that Dowd knew but could not bring himself to say to the president: Youre a fucking liar.
