"cancel culture" "political correctness"

Both bugaboo phrases condemn suffering the consequences of one's actions. If you violate society's norms, there will be a reaction, whether it's losing your tv show because your nutty talk scares away sponsors, or your rude behavior gets you excluded from polite society.

No consequences. The Trump family motto.

It’s the new way in saying ‘politically correct’ when people try to hold others accountable for their racist and despicable words/actions.

Someone did something racist, dumb, or stupid and someone would say “that person is canceled” or “I am canceling ___”.....so then conservatives took it and made it ‘cancel culture’

I do. Don’t let them gaslight you into believing this is a phenomenon invented by the left.

I have a cousin whom I no longer speak to, who is an adamant defender of CK, like CK was some kind of victim?

If Louis CK behaved that way in down at the middle school he'd be in jail for many years.

Is it so hard to not expose yourself at work?

98% of this stuff is just normal consequences. The stuff that does cross the line into cancel culture is few and far between. Like The NY Times science contributor who resigned because he quoted someone who used the N Word years ago, that’s cancel culture.

These extremists losing social media or TV shows for their libelous and violent rhetoric are just dealing with good old fashioned consequences.

And totally typical to label themselves the "victims" of "cancel culture" and "p.c." What a bunch of whiney babies. If you want to call people names and act like idiots, expect people to react. Trump has not yet been forced to endure the consequences of his actions, since his childhood.

All terms used by bigots to turn opposition to bigotry into a negative. From the same people who’ve tried to turn anti-fascism and the notion that the lives of black people matter into bad things.
