Many people are saying Louis DeJoy should be fired, but if we #SaveTheUSPS, how can any Republican ever hope to steal another election?

Biden inherited a U.S. Postal Service in crisis. Democrats' ideas such as ousting DeJoy and returning funding could be drawn out.

It's actually pretty simple. I am a big fan of having a very small Federal government. I believe most issues are handled better at a local or state level. Local leaders are far more accountable than people in D.C.

That said, there are things that should definitely be funded at the federal level: defense, interstate highways/railroads, and definitely the postal service. How about we spend a lot less on tax breaks for wealthy people and more on something that benefits everyone? I know, it's a crazy idea, but it just might work.

I am a letter carrier now also was a clerk and Mailhandler. Funding is an issue but a smaller issue than the other issues confronting the service.

Our biggest most pressing problem is we shut down over half of our mail processing plants and do not have the processing capability we use to have, that has slaughtered us.

The next 2 problems go hand in hand. That is how much money we piss away for stupid reasons because the people making the decisions from the PMG all the way down to the lowest floor supervisor is an idiot! If one isn't an idiot then their boss is.

Their are many more issues but those are the ones that are the most critical and have to be addressed.

I would like to see someone in the position who is actually looking out for the best interest of the American taxpayer.

In a Jan. 25 letter, Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-N.J.) urged Biden to fire every member of the board of governors. Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) made the same request on Jan. 29. Biden can remove governors “for cause,” which is not clearly defined by law. There is no indication the president is interested in such a move.
....
DeJoy has told mail industry officials he intends to remain in office to roll out an agency reorganization as soon as next week. The plan, parts of which were outlined to a Senate panel in August, includes geographic pricing and longer delivery windows. He’s entertained leasing out Postal Service properties and offering non-mailing services, such as private financial services.
....
The president’s most linear path to mail changes is by appointing governors to the agency’s nine-member board. Agency operations are specifically insulated from elected leaders to prevent politicians from tinkering with the mail service, postal historians say. Governors are confirmed by the Senate and serve staggered seven-year terms. No more than five members may belong to the same party.

Biden has three seats to fill, and could also replace Ron Bloom, a Democrat serving a one-year holdover term. Those four seats, plus sitting Democrat Donald Lee Moak, could give Democrats the votes to unseat DeJoy, if desired. Securing that majority may be months away, as the administration prioritizes Cabinet and sub-Cabinet nominations.

Support for the USPS cuts across all strata of society, and repuQs must be portrayed as saboteurs where mail delivery is concerned. I hope they beat this drum frequently as part of an overall strategy to show up repuQs as incompetent, among other negative characteristics.
