Nancy Pelosi on Lauren Underwood:

Congresswoman @LaurenUnderwood is a registered nurse & health care policy expert who co-founded the Black Maternal Health Caucus in her 1st term to end outcome disparities.

She helped strengthen the ACA & is fighting for better health care for #IL14 & America. #BlackHistoryMonth

We don't hear much from her, but she gets the job done!

She goes to work, and gets things done. We don't hear much from her because she is working hard and learning.

She almost lost her seat. We have to remember to support her next time.

It's so frustrating to me to see how it's the loudmouths, showboaters and other peacock politicians who garner the undeserved attention. Those politicians who accomplish nothing much, but brag about it anyway as if protecting the status-quo (rather than actually making progress) is something to crow about. Or, they'll use Twitter to engage in feuds and wars... as if it's supposed to be a valid substitution for actually accomplishing things. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I agree with you... she's one of our best and brightest and shows FAR more potential than others who have been around longer. I think the future holds great things for her.

AOC and the Squad draw all of the attention, but there are quite a few others who are quietly building experience and getting the job done and are representing their constituents really well. Sharice Davids and Lauren Underwood are two of my favorites.

Clearly, the work she does (and the progress she makes) is for the benefit of her constituents, and our country... NOT for herself.

I think that more individuals in congress should follow her example. She has a strong work ethic and integrity. Those are good traits to have!

The collar counties of Chicagoland have strongly conservative pockets. I keep hoping that people will wake up, and see who's really on their side.

I suppose it's a mixture of mega-partisanship and not knowing what the hell is good for them, but lots and lots of people vote against their own interests, time and time again.

Unfortunately, that's where a lot of effort that could be used elsewhere has to go - showing people like that where their interests lie, and not just touting the successes and virtues of one's candidate.

Have you looked at the 17th District?

The repiggies can yell all they like. We have a supermajority. Despite Republican obstruction, we get things done, at least most of the time.

I will not forgive them for keeping the Fair Tax from passing. And I think Madigan should have been in charge for a few more years at least. He was ruthless when we needed to be ruthless.

So pleased she wiped that smug mug off of Oberweis, he had the fucking audacity to attend freshman orientation thinking his white pasty face won the election. The AP called it for Lauren Underwood by over 4500 votes, but his hubris ass couldn't believe his lying eyes.

Do not buy Oberweis ice cream or dairy products, do not eat at the Burger Joint, do not spend money at their pizza places.

Lauren Underwood was one of the main Congresswoman featured in a documentary SURGE she is dedicated, smart.

and I was proud to both vote for her and contribute to her campaign.

That said, Obie's "white pasty face" has less to do with his hubris than his green inherited money -- Could we lighten up on the race insults, maybe?

.....that she does and it is truly inspired. Genius. There is nothing better than tooting someone else's horn in this context. If -Congresswomen Underwood's constituents see this it's better than a bunch of campaign funds. Nancy is a super hero.
