For the first time in a good while I find myself feeling hopeful

We weathered the last four years, in the face of incredible adversity, because of OUR strength.

Think about that.

Because of OUR strength. Because of your strength and that of your friends, neighbors, your fellow citizens. Because of our leaders. Leaders like Stacy Abrams. Leaders like Nancy Pelosi. Leaders like Katie Porter, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and many other members of the House. The members of the Senate who stood strong even as they were frozen out.

And yet we persisted.

We now face two BIG issues and a raft of smaller ones. We have a pandemic made for worse, singularly for the USA, by the Republicans. WE - you and I - put in place a man possibly uniquely qualified to lead us out of the wreckage of a a non solution. We have an economic crisis that demands immediate assistance and long term changes to allow the economy to heal in a healthy way for EVERYONE.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have every opportunity to be truly transformative leaders.

None of us will get what we want, but ALL of us will benefit.

Those who have stood in our way are out of power. Indeed, the split is painfully narrow. But that may be a silver lining. What will be accomplished initially will enjoy the broadest appeal. That broad appeal can translate into broader support which can translate into passage of more and more of society's wish list which translates into great support . . . .

The midterms will be the first real indication. I really think current circumstances can accrue to our benefit.

56% of the country wants * convicted by the Senate. (on TV news just minutes ago)

Midterm GOP primaries will be brutal. The eventual candidates are likely to see more like Maginalized Traitor Greene. This will open up once-difficult seats to our side.

Retiring senators suddenly open up opportunity for our candidates. Tim Ryan, for example, seems now to have a good chance to take Portman's seat. We never thought Georgia would have two Democratic senators. But they do. I can see the path to two Dems in Ohio being less steep.

To be sure, a lot has to go right for us to make this happen, but I really do see that way forward.

Hope and Hard Work are powerful when we all pull together and sing the same hymns.

I personally believe the 2022 elections are going to largely be a referendum on how Biden handles the pandemic. If he does as well as I expect him to, we’re going to be going into 2022 with a big advantage, imo.

And of the economy and the pandemic, I think the pandemic is the most important, but the economy is a close second. Progress on either will help us in '22. Progress on both will help us A LOT in '22.

Manchin and Sinema, thus far, have been playing nicely with the rest of the caucus.

Clearly that will change but they seem to be on board with the $1.9T. That's the big economic magilla.
