(17,862 posts)I never mask up, but then I never pass very close to anyone. I move to the street or to the opposite sidewalk if I encounter anyone. This has been second nature for a very long time because I do it walking dogs anyway.

(2,220 posts)Im obsessive about masking, but not when I walk. Im usually out early enough that no one else is around, and Im constantly on the lookout and will change course to avoid being near people.
Its second nature later when I walk the dog. He doesnt like meeting people or other dogs when hes on leash, so Im always avoiding people when Im with him.

(35,648 posts)I have the same issue. While I don't walk a dog, I get out of my car to go to the community garden to work. Where I get out of the car is in an area where people walk by on their daily walks or dog walking. Noone but me is allowed into the gardens for now. That will change once the pandemic is over.
I would think that if the wind is blowing, even slightly, that it would disperse the virus if it is there.
I think the chances are pretty slim, but I do wear my wask across that short distance. I take it off once I get into the large area where no one else can go.

(2,769 posts)When I am walking them in my neighborhood, because I'm always alone. If I see someone, I make sure we don't pass anywhere close. However, if we walk to a nearby park, I do mask up... there are usually quite a few dog walkers there, so I'm much more careful there.
