Some of the republican senators have to be really pissed at Trump and what they are

having to do. If the Democrats have some more really incriminating evidence we don't know about yet, it could get interesting. I bet the FBI have some of the terrorists singing, and we know some feel betrayed by Trump.

There is no way that meeting Trump had with his collaborators wasn't about the planned takeover and assignments after. No telling what they had ready if Trump had pulled it off. Did he have Flynn ready to take over HHS or something and start rounding up Democrats and republicans he felt were traitors? That was coming if he had stayed in power.

I kind of wish it was a couple more weeks away to give the FBI a little more time to gather evidence, but I'm hoping they didn't need it. The early bird facing a long prison sentence gets the deal, and I can't see some of them taking the fall for Trump.

There was a bit of monitoring well before the 6th since there was tacit knowledge of intent and calls to action. Some in the private sector may have brushed off a lot of signals but I'm thinking that it's quite a different story within the public sector.

The battle is set and the conclusion is foregone. What we see will resemble anything except a "trial." Then, after the acquittal, the Republicans will scream "double jeopardy" if Trump is taken before a criminal trial. Wait for it.

The only value of this "trial" will be giving the Democrats the opportunity to present the President's sins before the public, where it will also fail to change any minds. That does not mean that it is not a necessary drill, it is imperative to expose the crimes, if for no other reason, to leave a trail for historians to follow.

balance. Actually, our national security depends on it, due to threats on the lives of people who have not supported him in the past. But he must be convicted, and never again allowed to run for office.

Then we need to go 14th amendment against his spawn. They were officials in his administration. NONE of them should be allowed to run for office. Including Rudy Giuliani.

I just hope the democrats have the courage to make it an anonymous vote.

Political trial vs. a criminal or even a civil trial. There are no double jeopardy laws governing impeachments and subsequent criminal/civil exposures.
