Remember, CDC just said Florida experienced the fastest spread of the new Covid variant

southpaw @nycsouthpaw 21h
"Florida stands out as the state with the highest prevalence of the variant ... and leads the nation in reported cases involving B.1.1.7, with 187 infections as of Thursday, ...according to the CDC."

from Huffpo:

The CDC said last week that Florida experienced the fastest spread of this new B.1.1.7 variant, which a new report estimated was 35 to 45 percent more transmissible.

Infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm compared the arrival of this new variant to an oncoming Category 5 hurricane.

“We are going to see something like we have not seen yet in this country,” he said on “Meet the Press.”

That's the one that really scares me because the vacinnes don't work as well against it and it's more deadly - a double whammy.

...but we're finding out that the proclivities of our population to deny science, in favor of relying on the limited realms of our own personal intellect and knowledge, is the virus' most complicit ally.
