I think all the right wing TV Evangelical preachers kissed his feet.
And of course he stood in the front of that church holding a Bible (upside down).
When asked "Is that your Bible?"
Trump replied "It is a Bible."

(3,546 posts)I was seriously wondering if Trump was the biblical Antichrist for awhile...he fit the description really well, even to the point of telling his followers to wear something on their heads. I know some of you are equating me with a QAnon follower right now, but come on...the dude was seriously evil. If you are a Christian, its not much of a stretch, really. Except the Antichrist is probably not that dumb.

(1,690 posts)The actual Bible is pretty thin on details of the Anti-christ, but everything they've said about the anti-christ was embodied by trump.
My objection to your concern here is that the people who didn't follow trump would not be considered Christians by his followers. I've said this before, but the trump followers own the brand. The Christians who don't agree with that interpretation didn't push back, choosing harmony within the overall community over protecting the perception of what a Christian is. I know that offends a lot of people, but I you grabbed pretty much anyone from a western society and asked them; Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham etc. are much more likely to be considered Christian than someone like Jimmy Carter or Joe Biden.

(9,354 posts)My pick is Franklin Graham, but there are other possibilities. Or it could be a shorthand phrase for all of them put together.

(1,343 posts)that warned of an anti-christ was the Book of Revelation, by (purportedly) St. John the Divine.
Well, I've always thought that St. John (or whoever) was tripping on some mighty fine weed when that book was written. Why it was included in the New Testament is, quite simply, to scare people shitless. There is no earthly reason why anyone in their right (non-tripping) mind should give it any credence.
IMHO, the Bible is chock full of untruths, ancient myths and sheer fantasy, and yet many folks believe it is historically accurate -- NOT!

(53,061 posts)Was written during a time of intense persecution and murder of Christians and was written to encourage believers to be strong in the face of adversity.
The symbolic imagery referenced immediate events and persons and was never intended to be predictive of future events simply encouraging people that in the end good wins out over evil.
It's inclusion in the cannons was by the narrowest vote margin as even by the 4th century it was widely misunderstood.
