To me, he was the obvious choice and he has done a great job.

I think he's going a really great job. I'm dreading the parade of personalities that they have lined up. Hoping they will circle back to him and make it permanent. What I like best is his clear love of the game and deep affection and respect for Alex.

a genuine search for the person who would make the best next host.

I mean, c'mon - are we really expecting the producers to choose Aaron Rodgers as the host, when he would be clearly unavailable several months out of the year? I think Anderson Cooper is pretty busy throughout the year as well.
