(6,154 posts)I just had major surgery a week ago today and I'm physically restricted to a recliner, so it's like what else am I going to do? Watch a rerun of the last super bowl? I'd much rather be out doing something constructive.
I had major surgery on Jan 28 and still can't get around easy. So I'm in my recliner watching this. Though I'll be asleep soon. He's boring.
I hope you heal quickly!

They are pulling the abusive male victim shit on America!!!
Greasy lawyer won't get paid. Trump never pays his debts, just goes for revenge.
That guy deserves to be grabbed by the collar and shaken. My dad did this to a colonel before. He ended up in Korea. But a colonel had to send him to the front because he knew.
An NCO had the strength to pull a man up by the collar and shake him silly.
Did not care what decorations sat n his shoulder. That's my role model in life. The MPs arrested my dad, but shook his hand too.
That Trump lawyer's balls are in my dad's pocket if we are counting coup.

What the hell was all that about voters being smart enough to chose to change ... this is about a former president inciting a riot in order to deny the will of the voters and his refusal to accept the election results.

Dems are mean, and this is just going to further divide the country. Yawn.
I'm not even going to speculate on why one hand has to hold the top of his head when he takes a drink of water.

(15,404 posts)Was I hearing Mr. "Just a small town Pennsylvania DA" Castor subtly threaten Senators with Trump's constituency in red states. He went on for a good five or ten minutes on how Senator Sasse was facing trouble in Nebraska because of his recent stances.
Then he went on with how the Democrats were obviously still afraid of T****?
Got the slightest whiff of Mob Lawyer there.

Editedd because I don't care who T****s lawyers are, but still need to get the names right.

(3,245 posts)but is this one of Trump's lawyers arguing for the nee to have witnesses?
Is this guy really wishing for something he might come to regret?
BlueSpot
(1,303 posts)He said the articles of impeachment were rushed because there were no hearing and no witnesses. But seems to also be talking about witnesses in general being required for fairness. Obviously, he wasn't part of the team at the 1st impeachment where no witnesses were allowed by the Senate!

(5,340 posts)That isnt what the Constitution allows for, so they need to get over it.
If mcconnell hadnt recessed the Senate until January 19th, the Constitutional remedies for dealing with a pResident that pumped-up and directed violent mobs to the Capitol might have satisfied his artificial requirements. If this was a court of law and I was a lawyer, Id argue his requirements are unreasonable for starters. I mean, just because he lost his job does not mean he didnt commit the acts being alleged or shouldnt be held to account for them.
crickets
(26,168 posts)I'm still amazed they're having a vote on the Constitutionality of this, but whatever. If anything, this should be a good indication of how they'll vote later.
